Common questions
Where is Delaval Daycare based?
We are based at Durken House, Durken Business Park in Seghill, NE23 7DR, on the Northumberland and North Tyneside border. We welcome dogs from across a ten mile radius, including Cramlington, Seaton Delaval, Whitley Bay, Blyth, Killingworth and beyond.
Do you offer a free trial or meet and greet?
Yes. Every new dog starts with a free meet and greet assessment. It lets us get to know your dog, talk through their routine and needs, and make sure they feel happy and settled before their first full day with us.
How big are your daycare groups?
We keep groups small and carefully matched by size, age and temperament. Small group ratios mean calmer days, closer supervision and genuine one to one attention, which is exactly why owners choose us over a large busy kennel.
Is my dog insured and safe while in your care?
Yes. Delaval Daycare is fully insured and we are canine first aid trained. Your dog stays in a secure, enclosed environment with constant supervision throughout the day.
What does my dog need before starting daycare?
Your dog should be up to date with their vaccinations, flea and worming treatment. We will confirm everything with you at the free meet and greet so you know exactly what to bring on the first day.
Does my dog need to be neutered to attend?
Not necessarily. We assess every dog individually at the meet and greet. We will talk through your dog's age, temperament and any seasons so we can place them in the right group and keep every dog comfortable.
What are your opening times?
Daycare, walking, sitting and boarding are arranged around your routine. Drop off and collection times are confirmed when you book, so the day fits around work and family life rather than the other way round.
How much does daycare or boarding cost?
Pricing depends on the service and how often your dog attends, so we confirm it for you at the free meet and greet. That way you get an honest, clear price for exactly what your dog needs, with no surprises.
Will I get updates while my dog is with you?
Yes. We love sharing how the day is going, so you can expect photos and updates of your dog playing, resting and having a brilliant time. Many owners say it is the highlight of their working day.
My dog is anxious or has never been to daycare. Can you help?
Absolutely. Nervous and first time dogs are very welcome. We introduce them gently, keep groups calm and small, and build their confidence at their own pace so daycare becomes something they look forward to.
Do you offer overnight boarding as well as daycare?
Yes. As well as daycare we offer dog sitting and home boarding for nights away, plus dog walking. Your dog stays in a warm, homely setting with the same familiar faces, not a row of kennels.
