Dog care service

Start With a Free Meet and Greet, So You and Your Dog Feel Sure Before You Book

Trusting someone with your dog is a big deal, and we would never expect you to book blind. That is why every relationship with Delaval Daycare starts with a free, no-obligation meet and greet at our Seghill premises. It is a relaxed chance for you to see where your dog would spend their time, ask anything on your mind and watch how your dog responds in person. For us, it is how we assess your dog's temperament, energy and routine so we can match any future daycare, walking or boarding to them properly. There is no pressure and no online payment to worry about, just an honest conversation about whether we are the right fit for your dog.

Questions about this service

Free Meet & Greet Assessment: your questions answered

Is the meet and greet really free?
Yes, the meet and greet is genuinely free and comes with no obligation whatsoever. We see it as the fairest way to start, because you should never have to commit before you and your dog feel comfortable. There is no online payment and no pressure to book on the day.
Why do I need a meet and greet before booking?
It protects your dog and helps us give the best possible care. Meeting in person lets us assess your dog's temperament, energy and routine, and lets you see exactly where they would be looked after. That groundwork is what makes every later daycare day, walk or stay run smoothly.
Where does the meet and greet take place?
We hold it at our premises at Durken House, Durken Business Park, Seghill, NE23 7DR. Visiting in person means you get a true feel for the space rather than relying on photos. We will give you directions when we arrange your time.
How long does the meet and greet take?
It usually takes somewhere between 30 and 60 minutes, though we never rush you out the door. The aim is for you to leave feeling genuinely informed and reassured. If you have lots of questions, we are happy to take the time.
Should I bring my dog to the meet and greet?
Yes, please do, as meeting your dog is the whole point of the assessment. Seeing how your dog responds in person tells us far more than any form ever could. Bring them on a secure lead and we will take the introduction at their pace.
Will my dog be left with you at the meet and greet?
No, the meet and greet is an introduction, not a drop-off, so your dog stays with you throughout. It is simply a chance for everyone to get comfortable and for us to assess your dog. Any actual booking happens afterwards, only once you are happy.
What should I bring or have ready?
Bring your dog on a secure lead and, if you can, details of their vaccinations, feeding and any medication or behaviour notes. It also helps to think through your rough needs, such as which days or what kind of cover. We will guide the conversation, so you do not need to prepare anything formal.
Am I obligated to book after the meet and greet?
Not in the slightest. The whole point is to help you make an informed, unpressured decision about your dog's care. If it feels right, we will happily arrange your service and pricing. If not, you are free to walk away with no hard feelings.
Can I ask about all of your services in one visit?
Yes, absolutely. Many owners use the meet and greet to weigh up daycare, walking and boarding together and decide what fits best. We will talk you through each option in relation to your dog and your routine, so you leave with a clear picture.
How do I arrange my free meet and greet?
Just call or message 07805 786390, or fill in the enquiry form on this website, and we will arrange a convenient time at our Seghill premises. There is no online payment and no commitment to book. It really is the easiest, most reassuring way to begin.
